La fecha es la de la firma del reverso, donde Rodríguez dedica la &lt;em&gt;carte de visite&lt;/em&gt; a Alejandro Arias Salgado, Comandante de la fragata &lt;em&gt;Berenguela&lt;/em&gt; que realizaba el primer paso del Canal de Suez llevando a bordo a la Legación en Japón. &lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;span&gt;Desembarcamos en Shanghai con tan mala pata, que apenas estábamos instalados en el hotel, cuando vinieron los japneses a cercar con alambres la Concesión Internacional. Vivíamos como si dijéremos en la ronda de la Universidad—no olvida Teresita que es catalana—, y a pocos metros, pongamos en la plaza de Cataluña, estaban los dichosos alambrados, que los señores de la Policía japonesa no nos dejaban franquear. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;...vi el cielo iluminado durante noches enteras por el incesante bombardeo; el ruido de los cañonazos me impedía cerrar los ojos. Hubo, sobre todo, un día de pánico extraordinario; fue cuando los japneses lanzaron sus escuadrillas de aviones sobre Chapei, el barrio chino de Shanghai; el terror era general, pues muchos temían que, a pesar de sus promesas, los japoneses lanzaran sus bombas igualmente sobre la Concesión.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;</text>

&lt;blockquote&gt;&lt;span&gt;—¿No crees, Federico, que la patria no es nada, que las fronteras están llamadas a desaparecer? ¿Por qué un español malo tiene que ser más hermano nuestro que un chino bueno?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/blockquote&gt;&#13;
&lt;span&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;br /&gt;A lo que Lorca responde:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&#13;
